Aromatherapy

What is Aromatherapy?

Have you ever smelled something that takes you back to a childhood memory?

The smell of lavender and lilacs always reminds me of my grandmother!  Our senses play an important role in receiving information from our environment, and these senses deliver information to the brain that helps us heal. In particular, smells influence our cognitive ability, attention, memory, and sleep, and directly interact with our emotions.

Aromatherapy has many psychological effects as physiological effects, and it shows the most influence on subjective stress and mood.  Inhaling essential oils has both soothing and stimulating effects.  I use the highest quality essential oils to help create a calming environment and enhance emotional release during counselling.
